Traveller's Song

Piano by Bronwen Murray-Berg

Travellers blithe and gay are we

On our homeward road

Bound for happy days and free

Laughter for our load

chorus
School days are ended, let songs be blended
With cheer and laughter all the way
A rousing chorus, the way before us
Will bring us home and holiday
Our hearts are ringing, with shouts and singing
And all the hills repeat the sound
The whistle's blowing now; the train is going now
We're on our journey, homeward bound

Though we leave old haunts behind

Though we part with friends

Home and parents will we find

When our journey ends.

chorus
School days are ended, let songs be blended
With cheer and laughter all the way
A rousing chorus, the way before us
Will bring us home and holiday
Our hearts are ringing, with shouts and singing
And all the hills repeat the sound
The whistle's blowing now; the train is going now
We're on our journey, homeward bound
